When we say “successful person”, we usually think of someone who has a lot of money, a big house, expensive cars, a high position at work, or an athletic figure. However, we forget two things. The first is how this person got rich and the second, perhaps even more important, how does this person actually feel?
It is not unusual that many of the admired, seemingly successful people are often not happy even with their high status and huge wealth. Respectively, they have the same chance to be happy as those people who do not have luxury cars or status. Wealth is not a measure of success! Many times we feel like a failure, mainly because we don’t actually know how to define success as such. We have no idea what makes the difference between success and failure. And perhaps an even bigger problem is that we are polarizing. We are either successful or we are not, nothing in between. This polarization is stressful in itself. During our practice as a coach and psychologist, we probably encountered hundreds of times that polarization, whether we have it or not, created the problem itself…
